Page 2 of 2 The use of the ChromaPur™ CV Range in Sun Care Formulations for SPF Boosting Disclosed by Croda Europe Limited and Anomera Inc Introduction The ChromaPur™ CV range is 100% natural, vegan suitable and derived from black spruce from Canada. These trees are sustainably harvested and sourced from 100% Forest Stewardship Council Certified Canadian Forests. The ChromaPur™ CV products are produced via an environmentally friendly and patented process (for further details see patent publication WO2016/015148) that maintains native cellulose, type 1, the same cellulose which occurs in nature. The ChromaPur™ CV range consists of 2 products, ChromaPur™ CV2 (CV2) and ChromaPur™ CV7 (CV7). Both are spheroidal celluloses in morphology with CV2 having a particle size D50 of 2μm and CV7 having a D50 of 7μm. ChromaPur™ CV2 and CV7 Emulsion Properties The ChromaPur™ CV range can be used in different types of emulsions: oil-in-water (O/W), water-in-oil (W/O), water-in-silicone (W/Si), multiple emulsions such as water-in-oil-in-water (W/O/W) and others and can be added either to the oil phase, water phase or after homogenization of the emulsion under mixing. It can also be used in gel and anhydrous formulations. For anhydrous systems, the incorporation can happen at any point of the formulation. The ChromaPur™ CV range may be used in combination with a wide range of other cosmetic ingredients in formulation such as emollients/oils and waxes. Examples of emollients/oils and waxes include: avocado oil, C12-15 alkyl benzoate, C12-15 alkyl ethylhexanoate, C12-15 alkyl lactate, C12-15 alkyl salicylate, C13-14 isoparaffin, C18-36 acid glycol ester, C18-36 acid triglyceride, caprylic/capric glycerides, 20 caprylic/capric triglyceride, caprylic/capric/lauric triglyceride, caprylic/capric/linoleic triglyceride, caprylic/capric/myristic/stearic triglyceride, caprylic/capric/stearic triglyceride, castor oil, castor oil-silicone ester, cetearyl ethylhexanoate, cetearyl isononanoate, cetearyl palmitate, cetearyl stearate, cetyl dimethicone, cetyl dimethicone copolyol, cetyl ethylhexanoate, cetyl glycol isostearate, cetyl isononanoate, cetyl lactate, cetyl myristate, 25 cetyl oleate, cetyl palmitate, cetyl ricinoleate, cetyl stearate, cocoglycerides, coconut oil, cyclomethicone, cyclopentasiloxane, cyclotetrasiloxane, decyl ...
